• STOPD: Eventual Everydays

  • Isabella von Mühlen Brandalise (MFA Transdisciplinary Design '16)

Originally a graphic and product designer, Isabella Brandalise never planned on working in the government sector, but after finishing her Master of Fine Arts in Transdisciplinary Design at Parsons, she found herself in the unusual position of supporting an innovation team in the Brazilian government for her employer, pioneering Danish design lab MindLab.

    Advising

Eventual Everydays represents research on government and governance framed as a pataphysical narrative. Created by Isabella von Mühlen Brandalise, it introduces the NYC Subcommittee of Temporary Operations and Public Dissent (STOPD), a fictional agency embedded within the NYC Mayor’s Office.

Through temporary autonomous zones, decentralized archives, zines and public programs, it critiques rigid institutional structures while imagining new forms of governance. By exploring the tension between stability and transformation, Eventual Everydays positions governance as a participatory and imaginative act—one where alternative worlds can take shape.
