KOACH is a team management app designed for basketball coaches who aim to improve their teams' performance by using data.
My thesis project is an end-to-end digital product design that began with an exploratory phase, in which I gained an understanding of market dynamics, the competitive landscape, and user needs by interviewing players and coaches from various team sports. After identifying an opportunity in mid-level basketball teams, I decided to focus on the Spanish market.
The objectives of KOACH include improving the efficiency of the data-gathering process, which is often lengthy and prone to error. Many coaches lack training in data analytics, a problem I addressed through AI-generated predictions and analyses based on teams' data.
After defining low- and mid-fidelity prototypes, I conducted user interviews in two phases, with the goal of finding the best possible way to meet coaches' needs. I conducted a final round with data analysis experts in the industry to ensure the accuracy of the information displayed.
Finally, in the high-fidelity stage, I created the brand. KOACH is a name that reflects the nature of the project and allows for future application in new sports. The colors used, with modern gradients and strong contrast, facilitate data visualization.
This is how KOACH was born—a tool tailored to meet the needs of coaches by integrating their tasks with the performance of their players.
