  • Parsons recently opened a newly renovated making space at 39 West 13th Street for MFA Fashion Design and Society and MFA Textiles students. Bright and open, it houses approximately 25,000 square feet of fashion and textiles studio space including a garment construction studio,  a seminar room, collaboration rooms, a student lounge, and ample fabric and yarn storage space. New lighting tailored to the needs of students designing and making in fashion and textiles has been installed throughout.

    Graduate students studying fashion and textiles have access to a variety of tools and equipment, including:  

    • Sewing machines
    • Knitting machines
    • Looms (floor, table, tapestry)
    • Spinning wheels, yarn winders, and warping boards
    • Irons and steamers
    • Construction tables and dress forms
    • Textiles work tables and pin-up boards
    • Fabric and yarn storage
