Profile
Nadia Elrokhsy is a licensed architect based in New York City. She is principal of Nadia Elrokhsy Design and Consulting, a research and creative practice firm specializing in environmental design and strategic design for sustainability and resilience. Her design works, which include new structures and renovations, interiors, furniture, lighting fixtures and accessories, have been widely published.
Her research and scholarship goes beyond environmental consciousness in the built environment, to uncover the hidden connections between the social, economic, political, as well as the environmental. She explores theories, methods and tools that may be leveraged, through design, to further emerging developments and trends in less resource intensive practices with improvements in quality of life. As a member of The New School faculty, she is committed to investigating and applying new and integrative learning strategies for art and design.
Nadia Elrokhsy holds a Master in Environmental Design in Architecture from the University of Cambridge, U.K. She has lectured and is an invited guest critic at many universities, including Pratt Institute, Columbia University, and Yale University.
