Profile
Killeen Hanson works, teaches, and writes about radical listening, the commons, and the relationship between education, publication, and civic engagement. In 2016, she launched the Sobremesa Reading Club, a publication and discussion series framed around an evolving library of “texts” spanning genres, disciplines, cultures, centuries, and ideologies.
She previously served as Managing Editor of PNCA's UNTITLED Magazine, an online publication about art, craft, and lives of creative practice and helped launch Stanford's Spatial History Lab (now the Center for Spatial and Textual Analysis/CESTA) where she researched historic cartography and railroad expansion in the 19th-century American West. She is on the faculty of Parsons School for Design and currently lives between Portland, OR and Brooklyn, NY.
