Daniel is an Assistant Professor of Fashion Management and Social Justice at Parsons School of Design. He serves as the Associate Director of Curriculum for both the MPS Fashion Management and the BBA Strategic Design + Management programs where his commitment to integrating fashion education with social justice principles prepares students to significantly influence the future of the fashion industry.
With over a decade of experience in fashion event production in Toronto, Daniel has developed a strong foundation in creating engaging and dynamic experiences in fashion. This background significantly influences his preference for project-based learning, which is a cornerstone of his pedagogy.
In his research, Daniel explores how digital fashion can cater to the diverse needs of individuals and communities. As both a fashion educator and avid gamer, he highlights the transformative potential of digital fashion in video games and other digital platforms as tools for personal and collective expression. His current projects delve into the dynamics of digital fashion, avatars, and identity, focusing on how intersectional queer communities utilize fashion in various impactful ways, while also analyzing the evolution of digital fashion as a pivotal opportunity for the industry's future.
