MyNewSchool is The New School's Web portal, through which you can complete a wide variety of tasks. Check your financial aid and student accounts, view your class schedule and grades, find computer discounts or submit help requests with IT, and access a variety of other online resources through your Apps Locker. To open it, click the Apps icon (three horizontal lines located in the upper right-hand portion of the screen), then click the Canvas link.

Online classes and many on-campus classes use Canvas course sites to post announcements, readings, syllabi, and other important information; host discussions; administer quizzes; and complete other class functions. You can log in to Canvas through the Apps Locker in MyNewSchool.

Course sites for on-campus classes appear in Canvas on the day each class is scheduled to begin. If your class first meets on a Tuesday, for example, the Canvas course site for that class will launch that Tuesday morning.

Course sites for online classes will appear in Canvas on the first day of the semester, and the first few days are reserved for a Canvas orientation class. You will receive an email at your New School email account (@newschool.edu) with instructions for logging into Canvas.

The New School mobile app offers one-stop access to the latest university information, as well as services that you use every day as a member of our community. View interactive campus maps, dining commons menus, university news and events, and much more. Customize your home screen to feature the functions you use the most.

Starfish, our Student Success Network, connects students with faculty, staff, advisors, and a number of support services across campus. Use Starfish to monitor your attendance in credit-bearing courses, find contact information for members of your Success Network, and make appointments with your advisor, instructors, tutors, and others.

It's never too early to think about internships and careers! Our new and improved career platform, HireNew, is the place to view and apply for job and internship postings, find career development events, and manage your internship requirements. Graduate students can also use it to make appointments with their graduate career advisor.

NarwhalNation is your one-stop shop for campus involvement. Start or join a student organization, find the fitness class schedule, or discover campus events and activities relevant to your interests. You can even set filters to find events with perks, like free food.
