• New Student Orientation

    Congratulations on your decision to join our community, and welcome to The New School! New Student Orientation for the fall 2026 semester will be held from Sunday, August 23, to Tuesday, August 25, 2026. Registration for Orientation is open for all incoming Fall students. 

    Orientation introduces new students to all the resources and opportunities available to New School students as they start their journey at the university. Students will meet the faculty and staff who are here to support them and begin to build academic and social communities with classmates from around the world.

    Attendance at Orientation is required for all students in on-campus programs and is optional for students enrolled in online-only programs. 

    Check your New School email account regularly for information about New Student Orientation. Also, don’t forget to follow New School Student Life on Instagram at @newschool_fye to stay up-to-date on Orientation. If you have any questions, email [email protected]. 

    Family Orientation

    Family Orientation Welcome Sessions will be held on Friday, August 21, and Sunday, August 23, with the same content provided on both days. Family members should register to attend the session that works best for their schedule; they do not need to attend both. Virtual sessions will also be available in July and August.
