University

Our undergraduate, graduate, and student teams host a wide range of admission events throughout the year. You can learn all about our programs, the process of applying or transferring, preparation of a portfolio or audition repertoire, and life inside our classrooms and on our New York City campus.
Our Welcome Center building is located at 72 Fifth Avenue, on the corner of 13th Street, and is currently open to external visitors.
Our in-person offerings include pre-scheduled admission counseling appointments and campus tours accommodating a maximum of ten prospective students with one guest each. Visitors without appointments can interact with Welcome Center staff in the Welcome Center lobby.
Those interested in learning more about our academic programs, admission requirements, or campus life are invited to connect online with a Welcome Center student assistant through our Welcome Center Virtual Desk. Virtual desk hours are 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. ET Monday through Friday. No appointment is necessary.

- Admission Appointments
  
  These appointments provide potential graduate degree applicants with the opportunity to meet individually with an Admission counselor to identify the best-fit program and discuss the admission process for the MA in Media Studies, the MS and Certificate in Media Management, and the Documentary Media Studies Certificate.

- Campus Tours
  
  Student-led campus tours introduce visitors to our academic facilities. Student housing is not included. Only those with appointments will be able to tour campus. Please register for the tour most appropriate for your interests:
  Graduate Programs Campus Tours are 60-minute student-led campus tours that introduce visitors to the graduate academic facilities at Parsons School of Design, the Schools of Public Engagement, and/or The New School for Social Research. These tours provide a general and broad overview of campus buildings used by graduate students at The New School. Those seeking a more focused introduction to a particular area of study are encouraged to connect directly with program chairs or faculty.

- Graduate Fairs
  
  These events are open fairs for prospective graduate students, at which Admission representatives staff a table on behalf of The New School. They serve as an initial point of contact between students and colleges without students needing to travel to visit the college itself, allowing them to interact with Admission representatives from a wide range of post-secondary institutions.
