Callen-Lorde Community Health Center
Callen-Lorde is New York City's only primary health care center dedicated to meeting the health needs of the lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender communities and people living with HIV/AIDS. Callen-Lorde accepts ADAP, Medicare, Family Health Plus, and the following Medicaid plans: Fidelis, HIP, Health First, Neighborhood Health Providers, Amida Care, and Metro Plus. Many private insurance plans are also accepted, and people without insurance are always welcome.

Gender Identity Project (GIP)
The Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender Community Center's Gender Identity Project (GIP) fosters the healthy development of transgender and gender-nonconforming people, partners, families, and community. Through the delivery of a range of supportive services, advocacy, outreach, education, and capacity building, GIP creates a safe and constructive atmosphere for community building, wellness and self-care, and leadership development for the transgender-identified community.

Established in 1983, the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender Community Center is the largest LGBTQ multiservice organization on the East Coast and the second-largest LGBTQ community center in the world. Lower East Side Harm Reduction Center at The New School
Lower East Side Harm Reduction Center is a culturally diverse, community-based nonprofit organization whose mission is to reduce the spread of HIV/AIDS and HCV and other drug-related harm among injection drug users and the community. LESHRC conducts free and confidential HIV testing on the New School campus on Monday afternoons, 3:00-4:30 p.m. The testing is offered on a first come, first served basis and only when the university is open. Please call ahead to confirm the testing schedule.

New York City Department of Health and Mental Hygiene
The New York City Health Department provides free and confidential clinics that test for HIV and other sexually transmitted diseases. Appointments are not required. HIV counseling and rapid HIV testing are also offered. Patients have the option to be tested anonymously.

The Transgender Health Care Provider Directory is a public directory in PDF form listing transgender-affirming health care providers for the trans and gender-nonconforming community in the New York City metropolitan area. The directory lists physicians, mental health professionals, acupuncturists, and HIV/AIDS agencies as well as other health care practitioners.
