• J-1 exchange visitor status allows for limited employment, such as on-campus work and/or academic training for students and occasional lectures and short-term consultations for visiting scholars. You must always receive employment authorization from ISSS in advance by notifying the ISSS office about your job offer. Carefully review your J-1 employment options and the authorization procedures outlined below. J-1 exchange visitors are encouraged to set up an appointment in Starfish with an ISSS advisor to discuss employment options and authorization procedures.
