  • Are you a new or current student looking to live on campus? 

    For the spring 2022 semester, we will continue with our plan of expanding access and capacity while still taking all necessary steps to meet required social distancing guidelines. Students who apply by the priority deadline (November 20 for continuing students and December 4 for new students) will be guaranteed a housing assignment for the spring 2022 semester. 

    Before applying for housing, review the Rates and Fees to compare the costs for each residence hall and room type. Rates for the spring semester are half of the cost of what you will see in the document. Please note that spring 2022 applicants are not eligible for nine- or 12-month contracts. After you submit your application, you will receive important information in your New School inbox.

    How to Apply

    To apply for spring 2022 student housing beginning October 18, 2021, please follow the steps below:

    1. Log in to my.newschool.edu.
    2. Select the Services tab and find the housing application link.
    3. Fill out the online application.
    4. Electronically sign the Housing License Agreement.
    5. Pay the housing deposit (part of submitting the application). 

    New Students: Please note that before you can apply for housing, you must be accepted as a full-time student by one of the colleges of The New School, receive your New School ID number (N plus eight digits) and instructions for logging in to MyNewSchool, and pay your tuition deposit.

    Special Housing Accommodations

    In accordance with applicable federal, state, and city disability laws, The New School's Student Disability Services office will review your request for special housing accommodations.

    Housing accommodations are determined on a case-by-case basis, taking the student's documented disability-related needs and prevailing standards for reasonable accommodations into consideration. Fill out the request form to request a special housing accommodation.

    What's Next

    After you submit your Housing Application and paying your deposit, the Housing Operations staff will review your application and place you in a residence hall space, taking into account your preferences. While preferences are taken into account in the placement process, they are not guaranteed and may be modified based on the available inventory for the spring semester.

Graduates

To apply to any of our Master's, Doctoral, Professional Studies Diploma, and Graduate Certificate programs, complete and submit the New School Online Application.
