  • The New School offers a student health insurance plan to all degree (including online-only), visiting, mobility (study abroad), maintenance-of-status, Lang and Parsons consortium, ESL + certificate, graduate credit certificate, and graduate and undergraduate degree non-matriculating students. Students enrolling through Open Campus are not eligible and are not charged for student health insurance.

The Student Health Insurance Plan (SHIP) is an integral part of the university's efforts to promote the well-being of our students. Students must enroll in the SHIP for fall 2020 before September 14, 2020. If you do not enroll, you will be default-enrolled after September 14, 2020. Once enrolled, your student account will be charged the premium.

For fall 2020, students who have a health insurance plan that covers them in their place of study may request a waiver. Changes to the Student Health Insurance Plan waiver eligibility and waiver process are for the 2020-2021 academic year only. More details about the 2020-2021 plan will be available soon.
