Pay Your Deposit Online
To accept your offer of admission and reserve your place in the class, log in to your Admission Hub and use the online system to pay your admission tuition deposit by the date stated in your offer of admission.

Pay Your Deposit by Mail
If you are unable to use the online system, you can pay your $500 tuition deposit by mail with a check or money order. Download the Admission Reply Form and send it with your payment by the date stated in your admission letter. Please be aware that we are currently operating remotely and our receipt of mail may be delayed. Please alert our teams at [email protected] if you intend to submit your deposit via postal mail.

Internal Transfers
Internal transfers are exempt from the requirement to submit a deposit. Please follow the link to the nondeposit form located in your offer of admission.

Special Deposit Circumstances
If you paid your deposit in a previous term or belong to a special program that exempts you from the requirement to submit a deposit, please follow the link to the nondeposit form located in your offer of admission.

Invoices are sent electronically to registered students. Student financial aid awards are displayed by semester under Credits/Anticipated Credits. All information is current as of the day and time the electronic bill was generated. An email is sent to each student's New School email address notifying the student that the invoice is ready to be viewed through the my.newschool.edu Internet portal.

Invoices for fall 2023 will be available the third week of July, with a payment due date of August 21.

Invoices for the spring semester are available in December, with a payment due date of January 10. 

The invoice contains all current financial aid as of the date of the invoice. Terms and conditions for financial aid awards are available online.

Accessing an Itemized Invoice and Account Activity (Students)

1. Log in to your my.newschool.edu account. Select the Services tab.
2. Scroll down to the Student Accounts box, and select Electronic Bills.
3. Select the My Account tab, select Statements from the drop-down menu, and click View.
4. To view up-to-date account activity, select the My Account tab, and select Account Activity from the drop-down menu.
5. If you'd like to make a payment after viewing the itemized bills or account activity, click The New School logo, and click on the red button labeled Make Payment.

Accessing an Itemized Invoice and Account Activity (Authorized Users)

1. Log in to the Authorized User link.
2. Select the My Account tab, select Statements from the drop-down menu, and click View.
3. To view up-to-date account activity, select the My Account tab, and select Account Activity from the drop-down menu.
4. Confirm you are viewing activity for the upcoming term.
5. If you'd like to make a payment after viewing the itemized bills or account activity, click The New School logo, and click on the red button labeled Make Payment.

Students can now make electronic check payments online using a U.S. checking or U.S. savings account. No more writing checks! We encourage you to use this method of payment to avoid the 2.95 percent convenience fee assessed on credit or debit card payments. Effective February 23, 2024, there will be an increase in the PayPath fee for international transactions only, from the current rate of 2.95 percent to 4.25 percent.

Students
Follow these steps to make an electronic check payment from a U.S. checking or U.S. savings account:

1. Log in to my.newschool.edu.
2. Click on the Services tab.
3. Click "Make payments online" under Student Accounts. A new window will open.
4. Click "Make Payment."
5. Select "Amount due," enter the amount to be paid, click "Add" to the right of the amount, and then click "Continue."
6. Select the payment method from the drop-down menu: Electronic Check (checking/savings).
7. Follow the instructions to complete your payment.

Authorized Users

1. Log in as an authorized user to the ePay site.
2. Use your email address and password to log in.
   If you have problems logging in, please use the email password option located directly below the Authorized User log-in. Reset your password and wait 20 minutes before attempting to log in again. If you still have problems logging in, please notify the student and ask them to delete you as an authorized user and then set you up again as an authorized user.
3. Once logged in, click on Make payment on the account.

We recommend submitting a paper check payment to our office 14 business days or more before the payment due date of the term to allow for official clearance of the check.   

Returned Check Policy
All checks returned from the bank are automatically redeposited for payment. If for any reason a check does not clear for payment after being deposited a second time, a penalty of $30 is charged to the student's account. The university cannot presume that the student has withdrawn from classes because the check has not cleared or has been stopped; payment and penalty remain due. Payment for the amount of the returned check and the $30 returned check fee must be made with a certified bank check or money order; another personal check will not be accepted.

An additional 10 percent penalty is charged if payment for a returned check is not received within five business days. After a second returned check, all future charges must be paid with a certified bank check or money order. Personal checks will no longer be accepted from the student. If it becomes necessary to forward an account to a collection agency, an additional 10 percent penalty will be charged on the remaining account balance.

The New School has partnered with PayMyTuition to make it safe and convenient for international students to pay their tuition using their local currency.

Students
Log in to MyNewSchool and click the Services tab. Scroll down to the Student Accounts section and click International Payments. On the next screen, click Pay Now and follow the instructions.

Family members or other third parties who will be making a payment on a student account can do so by visiting the PayMyTuition site directly.

We offer four- and five-month tuition payment plans for degree students each fall and spring semester (one payment plan is allowed per semester). The fee for enrolling in either of these plans is $60, and you must re-enroll for each semester you want to use the plan. The plan option will divide your total term balance for tuition, fees, and housing into equal monthly payments. The plan does not charge interest. If adjustments or additional payments are made to the account, the plan will automatically recalculate within one business day.

Forms of Payment

• Mastercard, Visa, Discover, and American Express.
• Electronic checking or savings from a U.S. bank account.
• Wire transfers: We accept wire transfers as a payment option for the monthly payment plan, but the enrollment fee of $60 must be paid through electronic checking or savings (U.S. bank account only) or a credit card (MasterCard, Visa, Discover, or American Express).

Please initiate your monthly wire transfer five to seven business days before the installment deadline to ensure that your payment is reflected on time. We request that students email the wire transfer bank confirmation to [email protected], or fax the bank confirmation to 212.989.9361 along with the their full name and New School ID numbers. This allows us to better identify the wire when it is received.

A 2.95 percent convenience fee applies to all credit and debit card payments made to a student account. Payments are automatically charged to your saved payment method on the first of the month if you have scheduled the payment. You do not need to log in to make a payment.

Due Dates for First Installment

• Fall: The first installment is due August 1 for the four-month and five-month plans.
• Spring: The first installment is due January 1 for the four-month and five-month plans.

Important Notes

You must sign up for a new plan each semester.

Students

1. Log in to my.newschool.edu.
2. Click on the Services tab.
3. Scroll down to the Student Account box.
4. Click on Sign Up for a Payment Plan. A new window will open that will direct you to our ePay site.

Authorized Users

1. Go to the ePay site: https://epay.newschool.edu/C21120_tsa/web/login.jsp.
2. Log in to the Authorized Users section.

After Logging in (Students and Authorized Users)

1. Click on the Payment Plans tab in ePay.
2. Select the term for the payment plan from the drop-down menu.
3. Click the green button labeled Select.
4. Review the installments and click Continue.
5. Click on Display Schedule. You will be directed to Schedule Payment Plan.

Setting Up Automatic Payments

To pay by eCheck or a credit or debit card, select "Yes, I want to set up my [automatic] payments."

Please note: Using an electronic check to enroll in the payment plan exempts you from the credit card convenience fee charged for each installment.

Students and authorized account users can store payment methods for faster transactions. Simply use the My Profile Setup menu to store information for either credit cards or U.S. checking or savings accounts. The stored payment method will be offered as an option each time you make a payment through the system.

Updating a Payment Method (Students)

1. Log in to my.newschool.edu and click the Services tab.
2. Scroll down to the Student Accounts box.
3. Click Store your payment methods for quick and easy payment to be taken to the student account activity portal.
4. Click the Payment Profile tab (underneath the My Profile Setup menu).
5. Select the desired payment type (U.S. electronic checking, U.S. savings, or credit card or debit card) under Add New Payment Method.
6. Add payment information and click Save.
7. Once the new payment method has been saved, if you are enrolled in a payment plan and want to update your payment method, click the Payment Plans tab at the top.
8. Scroll down and click Update all methods.
9. Select the new payment method from the drop-down menu.
10.  Follow the instructions to complete the update.

Updating a Payment Method (Authorized Users)

1. Log in as an authorized user to the ePay site.
2. Click the Payment Profile tab (underneath the My Profile Setup menu).
3. Select the desired payment type (U.S. electronic checking, U.S. savings, or credit card or debit card) under Add New Payment Method.
4. Add payment information and click Save.
5. Once the new payment method has been saved, if you are enrolled in a payment plan and want to update your payment method, click the Payment Plans tab at the top.
6. Scroll down and click Update all methods.
7. Select the new payment method from the drop-down menu.
8. Follow the instructions to complete the update.

1. Log in to my.newschool.edu.
2. Click on the Services tab.
3. Scroll down to the Student Accounts box.
4. Click Sign up to receive refunds electronically.
5. Click the Electronic Refunds tab to the right under the My Profile Setup menu.
6. Click the Set up a new account button.
7. Select the account type: U.S. checking or U.S. savings. (Please note that electronic refunds cannot be made to debit cards.)
8. Input the payment information; then scroll down and click Continue.
9. Verify that all the information is correct.
10. Check I Agree.
11. Click Continue.

You can verify that the process has been completed correctly by clicking The New School logo at the top of the page, and clicking on Electronic Refunds tab again. The payment method should be listed under "Current Refund Method." To update the electronic refund method click the "Update" button, select the refund method, and click "Continue." An email will be sent to your New School email address whenever a refund is processed.
