Sam Winer is associate professor of psychology at The New School for Social Research. He uses novel methods and theory to attempt to better understand, identify, and treat individuals experiencing anhedonia, depression, and anxiety. His work is currently guided by Reward Devaluation Theory, which details why and how some depressed individuals come to avoid potentially hopeful and positive information.
