	Alison Kinney (she/her) is the author of three nonfiction books: the forthcoming United States of Rejection: A Story of Love, Hate & Hope (UGA Press, May 2026), Avidly Reads Opera (NYU Press, 2021) and Hood (Bloomsbury Publishing, 2016).
	
	Her essays and articles have appeared online and/or in print at The NewYorker.com, The Paris Review Daily, Harper's, Lapham's Quarterly, The New York Times, The Guardian, VAN Magazine, and other publications. Five of her essays have been named Notable Essays in The Best American Essays.
	Alison teaches creative nonfiction writing and writing electives ("Bodies of Water: Literature, Ecology & Justice" and "Professional Writing Practices").
