• Spark

  • Each spring, The New School buzzes with energy as students and faculty showcase their cutting-edge research and creative projects through screenings, performances, readings, and presentations. Alumni return to inspire and connect through talks and networking while staff curate exciting events and experiences. Spark was launched to celebrate all of this remarkable work, highlighting the incredible contributions of our community both within the university and beyond.

Led by the Provost’s Office, Spark brings all New Schoolers together to recognize the creativity, innovation, and dedication that make The New School unique. Provost and executive vice president for Academic Affairs Dr. Renée T. White says, “It’s exciting to have this space where our entire community can come together to uplift each other’s accomplishments and the incredible spirit that ignites The New School.” Each year, Provost White hosts Spark’s signature event, a reception with music, refreshments, and more. It is open to all New School students, alumni, faculty, and staff.
