• Eligibility for Institutional Scholarship Support

Institutional financial aid at The New School for Social Research is allocated on the basis of both academic performance and financial need. More than 85 percent of new full-time master’s degree students receive merit scholarships, averaging 40 percent of the cost of tuition.

Generally, awards are for the duration of the degree program, provided the student maintains steady progress. Only degree candidates are eligible for institutional scholarships. The New School seldom provides institutional awards to cover doctoral candidacy fees or tuition for students enrolled less than full-time.

Learn more about guidelines for the awarding and renewal of aid, established by the Committee on Admissions, Awards, and Scholarships.
