Congratulations on your acceptance to The New School!
The International Student and Scholar Services (ISSS) office is excited to have you join our community. We hope to provide you with accurate immigration advisement and help you make a smooth transition to university life in the United States.
New Student Updates
The first step in preparing for coming to The New School is to apply for your I-20 or DS-2019 in iGlobal. After
you receive your I-20 or DS-2019, you can schedule a visa appointment with your local U.S. embassy or consulate.
What Is a New/Initial Student?
For ISSS purposes, “new/initial students” are international students who have not entered the United States for their program yet. This includes newly admitted students, transfer students, students returning from a leave of absence, and students who were admitted in previous semesters and began study online but did not enter the United States.
