• The key to successful recruiting is a strong campus presence. This is best achieved through an integrated approach involving a range of activities. In addition to posting jobs online and meeting top-notch candidates through internship/career fairs, consider traditional and new ways to make your organization attractive to New School students.

    Internship and Job Board

All employers have access to our internship and job board, Handshake, which is the best way to get the word out to New School students and alumni. Posting is quick, and easy. As an employer, if you already have an account with Handshake, you can add The New School to your list of universities and colleges. If you don't already have an account, you can register for one with Handshake. Once you have an account, you can begin to post jobs and internships, host an event, or arrange to interview candidates.

    Employer Policies

Staffing agencies and third-party recruiters should review our third-party recruiting policies.

Organizations and individuals using our services must follow our policies and abide by all applicable federal, state, and local employment laws. Any behavior by any participant found to be illegal or inappropriate will result in an immediate temporary or permanent ban from any or all of our services. Our guidelines for defining illegal and inappropriate behavior are the Federal Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) Guidelines, the National Association of Colleges and Employers (NACE) Principles for Employment Professionals, and the policies and guidelines on this page.

The New School is committed to creating and maintaining an environment that promises diversity and tolerance in all areas of employment, education, and access to its educational, artistic, and cultural programs and activities. The New School does not discriminate on the basis of age, race, color, creed, sex or gender (including gender identity and expression), pregnancy, sexual orientation, religion, religious practices, mental or physical disability, national or ethnic origin, citizenship status, veteran status, marital or partnership status, or any other legally protected status.

Employers or organizations that cannot meet these guidelines can contact the Center for Career Development at a later stage to discuss access to services. The New School reserves the right to decline any employer or job posting at our sole discretion with or without explanation.
