Students may transfer up to 84 credits (of the 120 credits required to complete the bachelor's degree) to the Bachelor's Program for Adults and Transfer Students. Please review the University Undergraduate Transfer Credit Policy for details about the types of credits eligible for transfer.
The 84 transfer credits can be comprised of prior college credit and credit for professional, military, and life experience through Prior Learning Assessment.
Applicants must submit official transfers from all colleges or universities attended at the time of application. For students who have attended a college or university outside of the United States, an official course-by-course credential evaluation from
a NACES member must be submitted. For more information on transcript requirements for the application, please see our application instructions.
Official transfer credit evaluations are completed at the time of admission based on the official transcripts submitted.
Preliminary Transfer Credit Evaluations
Want to know how many of your prior college credits are eligible to transfer before you apply for admission? Email unofficial copies of your transcript(s) to [email protected] and an Admission Counselor can provide you with an unofficial estimate of your eligible transfer credits. We cannot complete preliminary transfer credit evaluations for international transcripts unless they are accompanied by a NACES member course-by-course
evaluation.
Transfer Agreements
The Bachelor's Program for Adults and Transfer Students at The New School acknowledges the learning experiences of students at the American Musical and Dramatic Academy (AMDA), the New York Conservatory of Dramatic Arts (NYCDA), and the International Culinary Center (ICC) and will award transfer
credits earned in certain programs of study. The transfer agreements apply only to students who complete one of the programs described below.
