Since our founding in 1919, we have always been a nontraditional university, one that challenges the status quo. Our Faculty Senate members are leaders in upholding that tradition. Drawn from every division at The New School, this team meets each month
to discuss and examine how we are fulfilling the university’s mission.
The Faculty Senate explores issues central to creating a rich and rigorous academic experience for students, looking at how nimble we are in our ability to respond to and change according to contemporary issues, exploring new ways to challenge students,
and discussing how to foster collaboration across our schools.
As leaders at the university and among the people who work most closely with students, their advice and counsel is provided to the president, provost, and senior leadership and is weighed accordingly.
Meet the leaders shaping the future of The New School and learn more about their work.
