  • Below you will find a checklist of required application materials, as well as specific instructions for each program. All required materials should be submitted before the posted deadlines.

    Priority Deadline: January 15
    Second Deadline: May 5
    International Applicant Deadline: June 15
    Non-degree and Readmit Deadline: August 1
    Final Fall Deadline for U.S. and Permanent Residents: August 1

    Spring
    Priority Deadline: November 1
    Non-degree and Readmit Deadline: November 15

    FAFSA (U.S. Citizens and Eligible Non-Citizens)
    Fall Applicants: February 1
    Spring Applicants: November 1

    To be most competitive for admission and merit scholarship consideration, please apply before the priority deadline. We will continue to review applications submitted after the deadline pending space availability in the program. The Admission Committee will make a decision on your application only after all the required materials have been received. Please email us at nsadmissions@newschool.edu to ask if we are still reviewing applications.

    Prior Degree Completion

    Graduate degree applicants must hold a bachelor's degree from an accredited U.S. college or university or the equivalent degree from a foreign college or university. Applicants in the process of completing the bachelor's degree may apply for admission.

    Applicant Profile

    There is no typical New School student. The Julien J. Studley Graduate Programs in International Affairs welcomes applicants from all walks of life, including working professionals in related fields, career changers, and recent college graduates. The admission committee reviews applications holistically. GRE and GMAT test scores are not required.
