Recent Updates: The New School is planning for a robust in‑person student experience starting in fall 2021 and beyond. Learn more.

  • Plan Your Virtual Visit Photo
  • Due to concerns about the novel coronavirus, The New School's Welcome Center is temporarily closed and all campus tours and on-site events have been suspended. We plan for the Welcome Center to reopen on August 30, when in-person classes resume, at which time we will offer limited pre-scheduled admission counseling appointments and single-family campus tours. Additional information about our in-person offerings for the fall will become available on this page in mid-August.

Now and throughout the fall, we invite you to connect virtually with our Admission team through a series of online events and offerings. Experience our campus by taking our immersive virtual campus tour, learn more about our academic programs by registering for an online information session or webinar, or meet with our team at an upcoming school visit, college or graduate fair, open house, or student panel. We've worked hard to offer many opportunities for you to get a sense of the culture, coursework, and student life at our university.

    Welcome Center Virtual Desk

Drop in and speak with a Welcome Center student assistant at our Welcome Center Virtual Desk. Virtual desk hours are Mondays through Fridays from 9:00 a.m. to 5:45 p.m. EST. No appointment is necessary.

The university will be closed Monday, September 5, for the Labor Day holiday. The Welcome Center Virtual Desk will not be available when the university is closed.

    Virtual Campus Tour

Take our virtual campus tour to discover spaces that aren't available on an in-person campus tour, such as classrooms, residence halls, making facilities, performance venues, and more. Even better, it's available 24 hours a day, seven days a week, in seven languages.

  • Live Online Events

The New School hosts hundreds of lectures, panel discussions, exhibitions, performances, and other public events each year. In response to the current circumstances, we have moved many of those events online, enabling you to participate in real-time from home.
