  • Welcome to The New School

    Visiting The New School's New York City campus gives you a sense of the culture, coursework, and student life at the school. Meet current students and faculty, sit in on classes, have lunch at our cafeteria, and take in the neighborhood. If you're not in the area, check out our virtual campus tour to see our campus from afar. Then, plan a visit to experience firsthand our distinctive academic programs and beautiful facilities.

    Campus Tours for Students and Parents

    The New School's Welcome Center, located at 72 Fifth Avenue, is the first stop for visitors to our Greenwich Village campus.

    Welcome Center Hours

    • Monday through Thursday, 9:00 a.m.-5:45 p.m.
    • Friday, 9:00 a.m.-4:45 p.m.
    • Saturday, 10:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m.

    Update March 17, 2020: As we continue to monitor the latest developments related to the novel coronavirus, our decision making and planning are guided by our sense of responsibility to protect the health and well-being of our students, faculty, and staff. Out of an abundance of caution, the Welcome Center will be closed, and all activities including campus tours are canceled, for the remainder of the spring semester. We apologize for any inconvenience and thank you for your understanding.

    How to Register

    To register online for campus tours, class visits, or information sessions, or for off-campus events for our current term, visit our Undergraduate Events and/or Graduate Events website or use the quick links below. Please note that tours fill up quickly, so planning is encouraged.

    Please note that residence halls are not included on these tours. Campus housing tours are offered as open houses and do not require pre-registration. More information about on-campus residences can be found on the Student Housing website.

    As of March 11, 2020, all residence hall tours are suspended for the remainder of the spring semester.  

    If you are interested in registering for a campus visit for a future term, check this page in mid-May for summer events, mid-August for fall events, and early January for spring events.

    Group Tours

    If you would like to arrange a special group tour for your class or organization, submit the Special Tour Request form below. Special tours are available only to groups, not individuals, and requests should be submitted at least two weeks in advance. Requesters will receive confirmation approximately one month before their requested tour date.
