Access Your Financial Aid Information

All new U.S. or U.S. permanent resident full-time degree-seeking students who have submitted a tuition deposit should have already completed the financial aid application process. If you have not yet applied for aid, visit the Office of Financial Aid webpage for information and instructions.

If you are eligible for financial aid and have completed your financial aid application, you can check the status online by logging in to MyNewSchool and navigating to the Financial Aid section. All new U.S. students receiving financial aid in the form of federal government–supported student loans must complete an online Entrance Loan Counseling session.

First-Time MyNewSchool Users

If you haven’t set up your MyNewSchool account yet, follow the instructions provided by our Information Technology office to access your account.

Returning MyNewSchool Users

Log in to MyNewSchool with your NetID and password. If you don't remember your NetID or password, click "Look Up Your NetID or Reset Your Password." This will take you to the Account Services page, where you can look up your NetID or reset your password. After you log in to MyNewSchool, you can review your financial aid status.

Request Additional Funding

Admitted students who demonstrate need can request additional financial aid by emailing the Office of Admission at [email protected]. U.S. citizens, permanent residents, and eligible non-citizens must file the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), listing The New School as a designated recipient, before contacting the Admission office.

Admitted students can use the Tuition and Fees Estimator to learn their approximate cost of attending Parsons Paris. The New School's Tuition and Fees page is another useful resource.

Parsons Paris holds Admitted Students Day on campus and online each spring. Campus visits and online events are also held throughout the spring semester for admitted students. Please check the Admission Events page for more information about admitted student events.

Pay Your Deposit Online

To accept your offer of admission and reserve your place in the class, log in to your Admission Hub and use the online system to pay your $500 tuition deposit by the date stated in your letter of admission.

Pay Your Deposit by Mail

If you are unable to use the online system, you can pay your $500 tuition deposit by mail with a check or money order. Download the Admission Reply Form and send it with your payment by the date stated in your admission letter. Please alert our teams at [email protected] if you intend to submit your deposit by postal mail.

Internal Transfers

Internal transfers are exempt from the requirement to submit a deposit. Please follow the link to the Admission Reply Form located in your letter of admission or Admission Hub.

Special Deposit Circumstances

If you paid your deposit in a previous term or will participate in a visiting program that exempts you from submitting a deposit, please follow the link to the Admission Reply form located in your letter of admission or Admission Hub.

To access your New School student ID number, log in to your Admission Hub. Student ID numbers begin with the letter N (for example, N00123456) and will appear approximately three days after you view your admission letter.

You'll use your student ID number to look up your Net ID and access your MyNewSchool account. Please also use your New School student ID on all correspondence with the university, as it will help our staff assist you as quickly and efficiently as possible.

Undergraduate Deferral Policy

Undergraduate students who have submitted their deposit and are eligible to apply for a deferral must complete the online Deferral Request Form, located in their Admission Hub. Paper forms will not be accepted.

Parsons Paris does not permit spring deferrals. Undergraduate Parsons Paris transfer students’ eligibility for deferral will depend on their admitted-year level and major.

Students who have not yet submitted a tuition deposit and are seeking a deferral for financial reasons are advised to contact the Office of Financial Aid and should submit their nonrefundable $500 tuition deposit only after they have a solid understanding of the cost of attendance. All deferral requests are subject to approval by the director of Admission. Students will be notified 10 to 15 business days after receipt of the Deferral Request Form of the outcome of their request.

Undergraduate Deferral Request Deadlines

Students admitted to the fall term must submit their deferral request by August 1.

Graduate Deferral Policy

Although deferrals for students admitted to a graduate program are rarely granted, such students can request a deferral by submitting a Deferral Request Form. This request must be made by the enrollment response deadline indicated in the admission letter.
In the rare instance that a deferral is granted, the student will be required to submit the standard non-refundable $500 tuition deposit. This sum will be credited to the student’s account and applied toward the first-term tuition bill. 

Deferral Terms

All deferral requests are subject to approval. The deferral will be granted only for up to one year from the start of the term admitted, with exceptions made for required military service. Students wishing to postpone their start for more than a year from their admit term must reapply.

Undergraduate deferral requests are considered only for students who have submitted their non-refundable tuition deposit. The tuition deposit will be applied to the new term.

Undergraduate students are not permitted to enroll as degree-seeking students or non-degree-seeking students at another college or university during the period of their deferral. Undergraduate students who enroll in any college-level coursework for credit during their deferral period will invalidate their deferral and will be required to reapply to The New School as a transfer student. This condition also applies to students who choose to enroll in a gap-year program in which college credit is earned.

Graduate students with approved deferrals are not permitted to enroll as degree-seeking graduate students at another college or university during the time of their deferral. The transfer of graduate-level course credits completed through non-degree study is subject to the transfer policy of the graduate program or school. Students with deferrals should consult with their program before enrolling in non-degree courses elsewhere.

Admitted students approved for deferral will receive the same merit-based institutional awards as those offered upon admission. Need-based financial aid for undergraduate students is reassessed on a yearly basis following the submission of the FAFSA. The $500 non-refundable tuition deposit will be applied to the start term.

If an undergraduate deferral request is approved, the deferral status will be immediately updated to indicate withdrawal from the current term and will reflect the new enrollment term. The student's New School email address will be deactivated until the new term.

Students with deferrals who do not enroll for their intended new semester must reapply. The $500 tuition deposit is non-refundable.

If a graduate deferral request is approved, the student’s New School email address will be deactivated and the current application withdrawn. 

Students with deferrals will be prompted to confirm their intent to enroll before the start of the new enrollment term. Students who do not confirm their intent to enroll by the deadline stated in the offer of admission may forfeit their seat.

Students who do not adhere to the terms of the deferral and wish to enroll must submit new application materials, including an application and supporting documents, and will forfeit the enrollment deposit.

The New School reserves the right to withdraw an offer of admission up to the start of a student’s first term at the university. This may happen if an admitted, or enrolled student, or a student who has submitted a deposit presents academic credentials with grades and/or coursework that are markedly different from those in the transcript or other supporting documents on which the original offer was based or if a student engages in behavior that brings into question their honesty, maturity, academic integrity, or moral character.
