Career Development and Internships

The Career Development and Internships Department accompanies students in their professional development and career search in a number of ways, including:

• One-on-one career counseling and networking opportunities
• Weekly professional development workshops on the following: résumés, cover letters, LinkedIn profiles, portfolio reviews, and mock interviews
• Customized information sessions by major and year
• Workshops, panels, employer information sessions, on-campus interviews, and career and internship fairs
• Mock interview sessions
• Alumni networking events
• Online resources

Students are encouraged to reach out with questions or to schedule individual meetings.

Parsons Paris has two online job boards hosted by JobTeaser in France and HireNew in NYC. Thanks to a customizable dashboard, students can view job offers specifically targeted to Parsons Paris students and view job offers from companies that match personalized criteria.

On these job boards, students and alumni have full access to:

• Information specific to navigating the French job market 
• Tips about professional etiquette 
• Ongoing and upcoming events offered by the Parsons Paris Career Development and Internships Department, as well as other schools and organizations

Yes. At Parsons Paris, we want you to have experiential learning opportunities that will change the way you learn and live in the city—the capital of creativity. The Career Development and Internships Department provides a job board that enables you to access and manage your internship opportunities; view the calendar of workshops, fairs, and events; schedule career counseling appointments; and find out which employers are coming to campus. Students should plan on signing up to receive email updates or checking the job board often, as it is updated on a regular basis.

Parsons Paris Career Services connects students to opportunities through our job board, Job Teaser and weekly info sessions. We also promote networking events, open calls, and seasonal opportunities for events such as Paris Fashion Week.

Credits are available for internship opportunities depending on the duration of the internship and students' eligibility. Students should meet with the Director of Careers and Internships to learn more about their options.

While French is not required at many internships, a working knowledge of French will increase the number of opportunities available to students.

Typical internships are 60 to 120 hours per semester. Summer intensive internships may be up to three months long.

Whatever positions you are trying to fill, the best way to get the word out to Parsons Paris and New School students and alumni is to set up an appointment, by email, with our Director of Careers and Internships.

You can also submit a job description (in English or in French) by email, to be posted on our campus job board, JobTeaser. The Career Services Director will contact you after reviewing the information. Please allow between two to five days for a response.

Our student community is very international, with more than 55 different nationalities represented. While most of our students are being educated in English and are bilingual or trilingual, English is their work language. At Parsons Paris, students are expected to start at a beginner level and perfect their French while on campus.

In France, a convention de stage is required, which is a three-party contract between students, the employer, and Parsons Paris to insure liability. Career Services provides you with the template and will facilitate the process with students.

Parsons Paris is the European campus of The New School and Parsons School of Design in New York. Established in 1921, Parsons Paris offers innovative design curricula designed to develop creative and critical thinking skills in international students.
