Environmental Policy and Sustainability Management (MS)

BIPOC EARTH (Environmental Action Rooted in Transformational Healing) is an environmental justice collective centering Black, Indigenous, and People of Color (BIPOC). This collective aims to provide a space for organizing focused on intersectional environmental justice that activates, supports, heals, and empowers BIPOC communities at The New School and beyond. We aim to honor, uplift, and contribute to a radically transformative future rooted in decolonial, racially just, feminist, cooperative, and ecologically centered practices that build intergenerational and multiracial communities for liberation.

The Cooperative Climate Futures (CCF) project is put together by a team of organizers, the majority of whom consist of program alumni and current students. The research expertise and work history of CCF's participants vary widely, but they find connection through a commitment to creating a decolonial, ecocentric, equitable, and sustainable future. CCF seeks to build connections between organizations transnationally with the aim of developing a strong, robust, and resilient decolonial future network. We do this work through a decolonial, Black queer feminist, and Just Transition framework. This project is designed to uplift the communities and organizations already doing the work to create a sustainable and equitable climate-just future.
