    Tracy Turner

    Profile

    A versatile performer, Tracy Turner has been heard around the globe in a wide range of musical genres and styles. From Singapore to the Italian Alps, she has been heard in concerts ranging from Baroque ensembles to Microtonal festivals, and from opera orchestras to Afro-Cuban jazz. Tracy has taught French Horn and Trumpet in the Mannes Prep since 1998, empowering her students with the problem-solving skills and musical tool sets needed to unleash their musical potential.

    Performances and Appearances

    Tracy Turner can be heard on numerous Recordings, including:

    “The Legendary King of Mambo, Mario Bauza and his Afro-Cuban Jazz Orchestra”, Messidor #158192,

     “Rise Up!” with the new music group daDadah, Accurate Distortion, #AD1003, and, as a featured soloist, “Frantic Antics” with Nobles of the Mystic Shrine, as a featured soloist on Newport Classics #NPD85644.

     

    Tracy Turner has performed with a wide range of ensembles, including:

    • Glimmerglass Opera Orchestra
    • Brooklyn Philharmonic
    • New York Composer’s Orchestra
    • Soho Baroque Ensemble
    • Virginia Opera
    • Virginia Symphony
    • Far East tours of “South Pacific”
    • National Touring Company of “The King and I” 

     

    Tracy was a founding member of a woodwind quintet and a brass quintet:

    • Whirlwind Woodwind Quintet - Performances, professional development workshops, community outreach, and artist residencies
    • Third Rail Brass - Including numerous concerts throughout Italy and Spain

     

    And plarticipated in summer music festivals including:

    • Music Festival of the Hamptons
    • Grand Teton Music Festival
    • Music Academy of the West
