  • IMG - Campus Life - Safety and Security
  • Our goal as a university is to create a safe and secure environment where students feel comfortable learning, creating, and growing. Even though New York City is one of the safest cities in the country, we are dedicated to providing additional safety and support for our students, faculty, and staff.

Our community is inclusive of race, ethnicity, national origin, culture, language, gender and gender expression, sexuality, religious beliefs, political beliefs, age, and ability. We stand against all forms of discrimination and oppression, whether directed against individuals or groups.

You can learn more about Campus Safety below, as well as our initiatives to create a network of allies, build support across the university, and foster inclusion.

    Safe Zone

Safe Zone is a network of volunteer faculty, staff, and students who serve as advocates to the lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans, queer, intersex, asexual, and gender nonconforming (LGBTQIAGNC) community. The mission is to create a safe and supportive campus environment and to grow a community of allies.

As a university, we condemn threatening or hostile behavior and take strong action against violence in all its forms. Student Health Services offers counseling and other resources to help students recognize violence and find support.
