    Profile

Adam Erickson teaches in the Arts Management and Entrepreneurship program at The New School’s College of Performing Arts. He is also a member of the executive leadership team for ArtPlace America, a national collaboration of foundations, federal agencies, and financial institutions working to position arts and culture as a core sector of community planning and development. He directs the organization’s movement building work in the field of creative placemaking, and its strategic communications supporting the 285 communities across the United States in which ArtPlace has invested over $100 million.

From 2013 to 2016, Adam was the Senior Program Manager for The Aspen Institute’s Arts Program, where he brought together leading voices from a variety of sectors, including arts, philanthropy, government, business, and education with the purpose of accelerating artist-driven social change, service, and innovation in the United States. Adam and his team presented over 500 speakers in 150 events — including panels, roundtables, strategy groups, conferences, film screenings, exhibitions, performances, and education initiatives — to advance public discourse and the free exchange of ideas.

Adam is originally from the Twin Cities, where he served as Assistant to the Chief Curator at Walker Art Center in Minneapolis, and as Executive Assistant to the President at McNally Smith College of Music in St. Paul.
