    Ahmed Abdullah

    Profile

    Leader of own ensembles since 1972, with current band Diaspora; performed and/or recorded as sideman with numerous artists including Sam Rivers, Rashid Ali, Arthur Blythe, Billy Bang, and Ed Blackwell. Worked with Sun Ra as a key member of the Arkestra with performances worldwide and more than 25 recordings spanning 20 years.
