Profile
For myself, psychoanalysis has always felt more at home in philosophy than in psychology given the nature of the challenge it presents for thinking through questions of consciousness, rationality, truth, reality, and identity. One could say that psychoanalysis wants philosophy to think sexuality and the unconscious. Philosophy, Gender and Sexuality, and Psychoanalytic Theory remain a fertile cross-roads in my work and teaching where I bring my experience as a practicing psychoanalyst to the reading of texts.
