    Professor of Fine Arts

    Profile:

    Anthony Aziz has been a faculty member at Parsons since 2001 and is now, in addition to his ongoing teaching and creative practice, interim Director of the MFA Fine Arts program. He and his collaborator of almost 30 years, Sammy Cucher, have been exhibiting their prints, sculpture, textiles, animations and multi-channel video installations in museums and festivals world-wide, including shows at the 46th Venice Biennale, the Biennale de Lyon, the New Museum of Contemporary Art in New York, the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art, the List Visual Art Center at MIT, the Reina Sofia Museum in Madrid, and the Fondation Cartier in Paris, among other venues. The work of Aziz + Cucher has been written about in the New YorkerNew York Times, Art in America, ArtForum, ArtNews, FlashArt, October, Cabinet and Parkett. Aziz received his MFA from the San Francisco Art Institute in 1990, and is the recipient of awards from the National Endowment for the Arts, the Pollock-Krasner Foundation, and the New York Foundation for the Arts. In 2019 Aziz + Cucher are exhibiting new video work at the Massachusetts Museum of Contemporary Art (MASS MoCA) in North Adams, MA, and new tapestry work at the Johnson Museum of Art, Cornell University, Ithaca, NY.  For more information see: www.azizcucher.net
