    Andrea Geyer

    Profile

Andrea Geyer is a multi-disciplinary artist un-sensing the construction and politics of time. With a particular focus on those who identify or at some point were identified as woman, her works use photography, performance, video, drawing and painting to activate the lingering potential of specific events, sites or biographies. In her work, she continuously tries to find new ways to materialize the entanglement of presence and absence in the face of ideologically motivated omissions. She believes that art should be a site to offer the possibility of re-orientation(s) towards a current moment. She lives and works in New York. To see most recent works go to www.andreageyer.info

Her work has been shown at SFMOMA/ San Francisco, RedCat/Los Angeles; LACE/Los Angeles; Hessel Museum/Bard College; MoMA/New York, the Whitney Museum of American Art/New York; Apex Art/New York; Artist Space/New York; TATE Modern/London; Serpentine Gallery/London; Generali Foundation/ Vienna; Secession/ Vienna; Witte De White/Rotterdam; IASPIS/Stockholm; the Turin Biennale/Italy; Athens Biennale/Greece; and documenta12/Kassel.
