  • One of the most compelling aspects of the Milano School experience is engaging in our rich university community. Through faculty-led initiatives, student-led organizations, networking events, and practical learning sessions, you will connect with peers who share your passion for creating lasting and positive change in the world. Client-based projects, co-sponsored public programs, and community partnerships help to build connections with organizations and professional networks throughout the city. The Milano alumni community is a close-knit group of professionals who continue to be connected to the school and its support system throughout their careers.

    • Milano was a series of ‘aha’ moments. I kept finding reasons for and descriptions of experiences I’d had managing staff. It was refreshing to better understand why it’s so hard to make sweeping, lasting change, and to gain tools that are helpful when I find myself in those situations today.

    • One of the most important things that I learned at Milano was how to structure my thoughts. The policy analysis classes in the beginning of the program were a key step towards developing a structured approach to problem solving/policy analysis.

  • Milano’s faculty is comprised of renowned scholars who are also deeply engaged in the world outside of academia. Their work sparks civic debate, guides policy changes, and fosters innovative solutions to the major issues of our time, including digital equity, environmental justice, community development, and economic inequality. Our faculty take a deep interest in students’ academic and professional development, serving as mentors and peers who understand your goals and share your values. Students engage with faculty through small classes, one-on-one advising, guided research, and collaborative, community-engaged projects.

  • Students in the Milano School of Policy, Management, and Environment access events including policy forums, entrepreneurship panels, research symposiums, and annual Earth Week programming designed and led by Milano faculty. Through connections to the Center for New York City Affairs, the Impact Entrepreneurship Initiative, and the Tishman Environment and Design Center, these events feature thought leaders in the areas of government and policy, environmental justice and sustainability, social entrepreneurship, and management and leadership.

      University Learning Center

      The University Learning Center is dedicated to providing academic support to New School students through one-on-one tutoring sessions and other services. Training is offered in Adobe Creative Cloud, computer programming, ESL services, general and graduate-level writing, math and economics, oral presentations, and time management.
