Audrey Axinn teaches collaborative piano at Mannes as well as courses in performance practice, fortepiano, and chamber music. Dr. Axinn served as an Assistant Faculty member in the collaborative piano department at The Juilliard School for many years. Currently, she coaches chamber music at Juilliard specializing in period keyboard instruments, and also teaches a course in the pedagogy of studio instruction. Dr. Axinn served as Associate Dean and collaborative piano faculty at the Tianjin Juilliard School from 2018 to 2021 and as Assistant Dean at Mannes College of Music from 2008 to 2015. She has partnered with numerous exceptional performers including Jaime Laredo, Sharon Robinson, Monica Huggett, Eugene Fodor, Matt Haimovitz, Daniel Heifetz, Fred Sherry, and Bonnie Hampton. She has given master classes in collaborative piano and fortepiano at The Juilliard School, The New England Conservatory, Oberlin Conservatory, Beijing Central Conservatory, China Conservatory, Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts, many universities in Taiwan, The Royal Conservatory in the Hague, SUNY Stony Brook and Kyung-Won University in South Korea. Dr. Axinn is a co-director and faculty member of the Academy of Fortepiano Performance, an intensive summer workshop exploring classical and romantic repertoire on historical keyboards. She holds a Master’s degree and a Doctorate of Musical Arts degree from The Juilliard School, as well as degrees from The Curtis Institute of Music and Manhattan School of Music.
