• Overview

    This curriculum introduces students to the history and scope of psychological inquiry, helps them acquire a basic understanding of the scientific method and its application to psychological research, and trains them to critically evaluate and discuss psychological texts.     Minors are available to undergraduate students across The New School.  


    Requirements for the Minor in Psychology

    The minor in Psychology requires the completion of the following five (5) courses:

    • ULEC 2160 Introduction to Psychology
    • Two (2) LPSY fundamentals courses (2000 level)
    • Two (2) additional LPSY courses at the 3000 level or higher

    Students must receive a grade of C or better in every course used to fulfill area of study requirements. Please note: Students are advised to refer to the current program catalog for degree completion requirements and to confirm their progress in satisfying those requirements with their advisors.
