    Global Studies is an interdisciplinary program focusing on contemporary challenges that by definition cannot be solved solely at the nation-state or market level. Global Studies is about social transformation and justice. Students are encouraged to not only improve existing systems but gain knowledge and experience to change them.     Eligibility

    Minors are available to undergraduate students across The New School.  

    Curriculum

    Requirements for the Global Studies Minor

    The minor in Global Studies requires completion of the following six (6) courses, distributed as follows:

    • 2 Introductory Core Courses 6
    • 1 Knowledge Base Elective 3-4
    • 3 Global Challenge Electives 9-12

    Total credits: 18-22
    Students must receive a grade of C or better in all courses taken in order to fulfill minor requirements in Global Studies.

    Self-Designed Major (BA or BS, Liberal Arts)

    Students pursuing a Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Science in Liberal Arts can pursue deeper study in this subject area through the self-designed major. To explore this option, contact an academic advisor or read more about the self-designed option at Lang.
