• Performance Management

Performance management is an ongoing process throughout the year, with a formal performance review conducted annually. The intent is to communicate and review job performance expectations, provide constructive feedback, document accomplishments, and jointly formulate performance development plans.

Both employees and managers should be working together in their jobs for a minimum of six months before completing an annual review.  Please contact Human Resources with any questions.

    2019 Process

    Completing the Review in MyDay

Performance reviews are conducted in MyDay. The performance review period is June 1, 2018-August 31, 2019. All reviews must be completed in the system by August 31, 2019. Employees and managers who have not been working together for six consecutive months will be granted an extension to this deadline to complete the review.

This is an excellent opportunity to reflect on the past year, recognize accomplishments, identify areas that need improvement, and engage in discussion about professional development, career goals, and plans for the next year.

The performance review in MyDay has the following sections:

    1. Goals
    2. Accomplishments
    3. Feedback
    4. Challenges (for Senior and Executive Staff)
    5. Competencies
    6. Professional Growth
    7. Overall Rating

    Guidelines for Conducting Effective Reviews

MyDay allows for increased transparency in the review process in terms of both content and process. Human Resources strongly encourages all managers to become familiar with the performance review process by reviewing all training materials and attending a training session. There are training sessions designed specifically for managers and others for staff. If you are a manager, you only have to attend a manager session.
