The New School is one of only a few universities in the United States offering a five-year dual-degree program that enables undergraduate students to earn both a Bachelor of Arts in a liberal arts field and a Bachelor of Fine Arts in either jazz and contemporary music or art and design.

Students pursuing the BA/BFA dual degree complete a five-year curriculum (168 to 180 credits, depending on the majors chosen). Upon graduation, you simultaneously receive a BA degree from Eugene Lang College of Liberal Arts and a BFA degree from either Parsons School of Design or the School of Jazz and Contemporary Music.

Apply to the BA/BFA Program
To pursue the BA/BFA dual degree, you must be admitted to both colleges (Lang and Parsons or Lang and Jazz). You can apply to the BA/BFA program as part of your initial application to The New School or as an Internal Transfer applicant after your first semester of study at Lang, Parsons, or Jazz.
